THE ATLANTA THREE - THE $768,287 MISDEMEANOR
The story of how three individuals from Atlanta - led by Georgia licensed auctioneer Allan
Baitcher - sold many fake and fraudulently signed Tiffany Studio lamps from different cities
all over the United States. To read this interesting story you will need to click on
HOME in the left margin and when the HOME page opens, click on THE ATLANTA THREE
in the left margin. You must access THE ATLANTA THREE from our HOME page.
ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE LAMPS WERE RETURNED TO THE FBI/DOJ,
VERIFIED BY ONE OF THE FOREMOST TIFFANY EXPERTS IN THE WORLD AS
FAKES BUT FOR SOME REASON, NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS DESTROYED.
THEY ARE OUT THERE SO BE VERY CAREFUL.

IT'S ALL OUR FAULT
We received an angry e mail from one of Ebay's finest buyers. They paid $2,400.00 for a fake and fraudulently signed piece of glass and they blame us. Upon receipt, the buyer decided to get another opinion and a major auction house gave him the bad news. The listing clearly stated that the sale was final and there were no returns - first mistake - and there was only one bidder - second mistake. While we absolutely did not have the particular piece on this site, all the buyer had to do was search our alphabetical list and he would have seen the seller's name in red italics which means that the seller has listed other fakes before. The price of $2,400.00 should make any buyer think long and hard before they acted. Ebay's Buy It Now option can be very dangerous and it makes buyers act before they think
. Currently there are many grossly overpriced and deceptively advertised lamps - especially from Minneapolis (seller 1LAMBO1 and NEIMAN123) - who offer an in house COA and buyers think they can Buy It Now at their price and get a deal. You will not like the deal you get. Think first.

NARUKO
THE PIECE THAT NEVER SELLS
The whatever - you - call - it on the left is back again. This piece was purchased on LIVE AUCTIONEERS for the whopping price of $25.00 with the current seller NARUKO being the only bidder (wonder why?) and it has been listed and relisted time and time again. First offered for $12,500.00, then $7,500.00, then $8,250.00 and now for $1,975.00 and the listing states that you should "not offer a dollar less". NARUKO has been on the site many times with his antics along with his sometime partner - JACK SHAOUL - from Universe Antiques in Manhattan. One of SHAOUL'S claim to fame is his sale of a fake Tiffany window that the New York courts made him buy it back for 1.3 million dollars but he has a colorful past for other fake and fraudulent dealing in antiques. You can read about this pair on Page 17, 18 and 21. It is our belief that SHAOUL buys this junk and then has NARUKO - Gary Braverman - sell them on Ebay. There is a very, very small possibility that the base plate might have come from a genuine Tiffany student lamp but the rest, who knows what it is or where it comes from.

CONSSTEVE
EBAY'S AUTOMATIC RELISTING POLICY
If your item did not sell the first time Ebay will automatically relist it and you need to do nothing. What this does is allow those selling fake Tiffany to make it appear that it is a new listing. Do not be fooled especially by those two different (?) sellers from Minneapolis who are offering fake Tiffany lamps - one base is real the other is a converted ashtray stand but neither shade is Tiffany - and they have grossly inflated prices but both do promise a "Gallery COA" with the purchase of either. Anyone who knows what a "Gallery COA" is please let us know. To avoid falling into this trap all you need do is check our alphabetical listings and see if the seller's name is there. A seller who listed a fake 10 years ago is still shown there.

CANDLESTICKS
We have warned you about the proliferation of fake and fraudulently signed
candlesticks and the one on the left is a excellent example. The photo background
and the darkness of the photo try to hide this obvious fake but the feedback of this seller is the real giveaway of his selling habits. Scan all of his feedbacks and you will see numerous examples of problems with reproductions, returns and refunds. There are several makers of these and all of them seem to feel comfortable not placing their names on them which allows for the first or second owner to add the Tiffany name. Look closely at the finish and you will also need to look closer to even find the fake signature. Seller guarantees it to be genuine but his feedback will show you what the value of his personal guarantee is worth. Blown green glass inserts in candlesticks is not a Tiffany exclusive and there are several repair facilities that can repair or replace broken glass
.

ON THE LEFT
"I am selling these for my wife's friend. who inheriated them from her mother in the 50's". Do not think for one second that this is provenance. It is our belief that this shade is not Tiffany and the other two shades offered by this seller from his wife's friend's mother are very suspicious.
